Life is an adventure. And horse-riding on known or yet to be discovered ground is the best adventure in life.
Our mission is to seek out the finest rides. We search for authenticity and connection. Connection with the people we meet, the horses we ride, the landscapes we cross.
We are strong on passion, intuition and imagination, and always open to new adventures. We constantly explore new paths with our outfitters and fashion them into new trails.
There are a number of ways to experience journeys on horseback and cultures rich in equine traditions. Each has its own beauty — it all depends on your preferences.
On our camping expeditions, beyond the beautiful vistas it might well be the multiple sensations of being in nature, with each other, and with the horses that leave the most lasting memories.
The small things: hungry horses nickering impatiently at dawn, tents unzipping, a fit of giggles, a dog barking in tune with a call to prayer in the distance. The slightly disheveled you clasping a hot cup of coffee at breakfast, not wanting to be anywhere else.
You might catch yourself daydreaming, having a deep or amusing conversation with your fellow rider, discovering needlework skills you never knew you had as you mend your torn pants or fixing a new feather to your hat.
What happens on any given day is not rushed. Not even terribly important in the scheme of things. In the end you will have crossed the land on a good horse that becomes your friend. That will be satisfying. Deeply so.
Our trail rides offer similar adventure, but you get to sleep in a comfortable bed. You get a hot shower each day. And you get to dress for dinner. Sometimes though we’ll throw in a night or two of camping – just enough to get a taste of it but not enough to hate it.
There are many options here. We nurture a close connection with the outfitters that we have come to know over time and spend a lot of time sourcing those rare ‘truffles’.
On our centre-based rides we stay mostly at the horse centre or farm and ride in a different direction each day. Plenty of time is left to take in cultural and historical sites.
If you want to relax and soak up the experience without having to worry about packing up each day or scrounge for toothpaste at the bottom of a bag, these are the rides that suit you. They offer an opportunity to take in a local festival, meander through an old town after a day in the saddle, and hanging out with the locals over a glass of wine.
